I remember back in the 60s when my parents sent dozens of cards. They kept an address book and would check off if they also received a card back. The list got smaller as they got older, until their cards only went to us kids. After he died, we discovered my dad kept some. Favorites, I suppose, though there was no way to know if it was due to the friendship or the artwork.

My wife sends out 10 every year to her family. I do them on labels.
