The last golf course I was on was at the Air Force Base in Altus, OK. The water hazards had evaporated and the sand traps blew away. The “green” was barely.
That was about 50 years ago. I have not held a golf club since.
The boys must live in the northern Sacramento Valley. Cooler day here, only 109F. Heck, if it gets down to the low 90s might have to put on a sweater LOL.
NH here. Drove by a swamp pond today that is now a mud flat. Turtles are still trying to reach what little water is left.To answer your question…YES, climate change!!!

We used to get out to the links at 6:am to avoid the heat and crowds but now the crowds are there at that time for the same reasons.
