Some teachers would tell the other students to be quiet and sneak out without waking the sleeping student up. Then the teacher would sneak out. Bonus points if she puts an inflatable Shrek next to the student.
When I was in middle school, the kid who sat behind me in one class fell asleep (kid was a transfer student and hated all the teachers because they wouldn’t ‘acknowledge how great they were’). They did it constantly to be annoying and one day the teacher had had enough. Said teacher had one of those really big rubber bands in their hands and had been playing with it during class – snapped the rubber band on the kid’s arm and shocked him awake. We all burst out laughing. Teacher didn’t get in trouble for it.

Kids falling asleep in class has to be better than kids bouncing off the walls.

Paige would’ve been another victim of my first period physics teacher with the monotone voice at 7:20 am.
