John Paul II had such a twinkle in his eyes.

Pope Paul VI would be more appropriate since he closed the Council…but John Paul II did implement a lot more of the changes.

The good author is highlighting recent developments in the Church. Big doings around the joint canonization of these two. Sancto subito indeed…

John Paul II is the reason a lot of people reconciled. And my 50 year old son still remembers playing “Michael Row the Boat Ashore” on guitar at Church! We called it the “kid combo for Christ”!

Interesting choice of “bookends” for the late council, Papa, omitting Paul VI and John Paul I (who remain on the upper shelf of busts in their sequential places). Next Sunday will be a big day!

I like the fact that Francis used the busts of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II hold up and book end Vatican II. Well done!

I’m not a Catholic, but the way they’ve rammed through the sanctification of JPII cheapens the honor. “You’re a saint, you’re a saint, you’re ALL saints!” (Apologies to Oprah)

At the time of Vatican II many thought that women would gain ordination.
