Saints normally don’t toe the line, they have itchy feet and are restless, they often put their foot down, they put their best foot forward, they keep their feet on the ground even though they are close to God in heaven.
Saints are not saintly through and through. They are people with their flaws, sometimes huge flaws, that none the less brought forth extraordinary social change for the good of humanity and the world we live in.

Gandhi unfortunately was still for segregation by social status. The terrible Indian habit of putting people into social tiers.
