I wake up 10 feet away from potable water. I eat breakfast and never have known hunger except by my own choosing. I go to work at a safe job that pays me enough to afford the basics of life. I come home and my house has not been burned to the ground, my wife has not been raped and killed, my daughter has not been kidnapped and sold into sexual slavery in a bordello and my son has not been given drugs and an AK-47 and conscripted into some warlord’s army.
I lie down in a warm bed at night and say prayers to a God of my choosing and nobody is trying to kill me because of it.
