and when i die…. and when i’m dead and gone… there’ll be one less child in this world to carry on, carry on.

You and I are involved in Descartes’ Wager…best of luck. :).Oh, physical death is real — only a fool would think otherwise, and I’ve witnessed it recently, to my grief. But you can only say with logical certainty that physical death is the only death there is, if you can say with logical certainty that physical life is the only life there is. And of course, you can’t. Whichever conclusion is true — and one of them must be — neither can be proven empirically or logically…it simply is..All we can do is choose the conclusion that explains the world best to each of us, and that’s more conducive to a happy, fulfilled, compassionate life while we’re here. I have, and no doubt you have too, and we will each live with the consequences. May we leave it at that, in peace?

There’s nothing wrong with my eyes. My arms are getting shorter!

And from the master playwright who knew little or nothing about the expanding universe (and to go along with Lewreader): Cowards die many times before their deaths. The valiant never taste of death but once.

^ Since I’m a firefighter, I can say that I don’t totally agree. I’ve tasted it a couple times more than I wanted to.

… which reminds me of that old Klingon saying: “Today is a good day to die!” Yah, OK, but next week is even better! … or, how about a month from now? What are you doing next year? My schedule is filled up (with living!) for decades!
