Remember that photosynthesis uses energy from the sun to convert carbon dioxide in the atmosphere into carbohydrates while rejecting the oxygen back into the atmosphere. That is how green plants grow.

IF THERE HADN’T BEEN A LOT OF CARBON DIOXIDE IN THE ATMOSPHERE LONG BEFORE AIR BREATHING ANIMALS EVER EXISTED, NO GREEN PLANTS EVER WOULD HAVE EVOLVED!!!

In that case, he might fast-track to becoming one of the decomposers.

It all depends on whether you’re a plant or an animal. :]

A policeman pulls a man over for speeding and asks him to get out of the car.

After looking the man over he says, “Sir, I couldn’t help but notice your eyes are bloodshot. Have you been drinking?”

The man gets really indignant and says, “Officer, I couldn’t help but notice your eyes are glazed. Have you been eating doughnuts?”

Dukedoug: For both plants and animals, 2-3%. And yes, arsenic is a required trace mineral in the diet, but don’t overdo it.

Yes, of course it’s good. It’s plant food! It’s the ONLY place where green plants can get carbon with which to grow! If there WASN’T carbon dioxide in the atmosphere NO green plants could exist at all!

    See here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Phanerozoic_Carbon_Dioxide.png

It is NOW about the lowest that it has ever been in the last 500 MILLION years! It has been at least 15 times this much with ill effects.
