The only thing Edison invented was the Research and Development team. Ever since, the real inventors don’t get patents because the company takes the credit and the profits.

While Edison gets the credit for commercial electricity Tesla actually won, Edison was a direct current fan, while it was Tesla (who was backed by a gentleman named Westinghouse) who proposed alternating current. Guess which we use today….
