Psychiatrists and Psychologists never ‘cure’ anyone – they ‘treat’ them – mental issues are ‘handled’, but don’t ever go away completely (exceptions being when there’s severe brain damage or death).

Freud did worse then ‘not cure’ his patients, he outright betrayed them. When he realized that his discoveries about the causes of female ‘hysteria’ (almost always early, violent sexual abuse) would put his funding in jeopardy (hysteria was common among ALL social strata, including the one giving him money) he turned everything he had discovered on its head and came up with the whole ‘women make up things because they can’t admit they want taboo sex’ excuse.
