Phone and computer scams are on the rise. Unless you don’t readily recognize the incoming phone number or sender, DON’T answer. The latest is ‘Do you hear me?’, if you reply yes, you are into the caller’s system and had. If you do get a call from a number you do not recognize, google it and you will find 99 times out of 100, it is a scam number. Yesterday, the offending caller (didn’t answer but looked up the number) was threatening a friend and also a policeman, with arrest for outstanding warrants and to send money.
Sadly many do. I’ve been getting a string of"African payoff" spams. 2 purportedly from Bank of America and one each from Secretary of State and Secretary of Treasury. Laugh because the names aren’t, and never have been, Secretaries of either department and neither is the name on the BofA. Addresses are wrong as well. Not to mention the English is POOR.
