Thank gawd for Cliff Notes. Even though I was an English major, I never had to read Joyce. Henry James was bad enough . . . Hemingway could say more in one sentence about a human’s condition than either Joyce OR James could say in a page of prose . . . can’t figure out why these long verbose tomes are considered (by the establishment) to be worthier of consideration than humorists such as Mark Twain . .

Are these comments for bloody real ? Pity some seem to have replaced any sense of humor (lowly as it may have been) with enlarged literary egos. :>)
