Along with all the other workers in there. As well as truckers, grocery workers, etc. Thanks for taking care of us. As for the rest of us stay home if you can.
The Donald was right when he compared this to a war: A friend tells me his grandchildren are living with him “for the duration” – his son & daughter-in-law are doctors.
Whenever I hear an emergency vehicle siren, I follow two trains of thought. I pray the best outcome for the person who needs them, but I am also very glad to know that person will be getting trained personnel who will care for him/her.
And lets not forget all the folks performing maintenance chores, keeping things cleaned up and running for all the caregivers. Thanks to all who are keepin’ on keepin’ on!
The traditionally female-dominated occupations — nurse, teacher, librarian, secretary — have never gotten either the respect or the compensation that their service warrants. Let’s not even get into homemaker.

I’ve known that for years. Too bad it takes a pandemic for more people to realize it….and when this is over, or mostly over, they’ll forget.

Yes. It’s sad to hear that some are making a measle-y salary.

Yet with all that is going on, there are hospitals that are cutting staffing and hours for nurses. Shocking and shameful.
