I wasn’t there, but the 1950s had problems, too: Racism, homophobia, extreme censorship, willy-nilly blacklisting, xenophobia, much too prevalent tob*cco usage, ultraconservative biases in government and Hollywood etc…
(I’m only focusing on the US, but I’m sure these problems existed elsewhere in the 1950s, too)
