Caulfield: You know what a watch is? It's a map. Except the you are here keeps scooting ahead.
Mr. Spaetzle: I don't understand.
Caulfield: Maybe you will once you are there.
Alas, they seem to have used the worse, not the better, of the two formats. I miss having the archives, having the past 10 days displayable on the page, and especially having the spammer-free comments that notified you when someone added something. With the latter, we occasionally had some good conversations.
edrush (heh-heh) – if you’re comics.com notifications remained spammer-free, you were lucky. 25-50% of mine eventually had spam, some sooner (2 weeks), some later (4 months). For almost half a year, I took it upon myself to report every one until I realized that comics.com was making it more difficult for regular users than for spammers to post.Still, catching more of most conversations was worth the effort.

If he’s looking at an analog watch, he has the concept nailed. :-)

I used to be a watchmaker. It was a great job and I made my own hours.

Believe it or not, many kids these days can’t read an analogue watch or clock. They know what 9:15 means, but don’t understand quarter after 9…..

Is there anywhere to read old strips?

I was reading the old strips and when the changeover came they went away. I have complained. Perhaps if enough of us do, they will put them up again.

I would hope so. I find totally unfamiliar strips here from time to time and would like to see others in that series.

Now that it has switched over to GoComics, the emailed version is in black and white. When are they going to send the color version instead?

Mr. Spaetzle would not have a digital watch.
