Yep…and that’s because they make ’em out of rubber. Thank goodness!

I’ve often said, the reason we don’t have the energy of a 5 year old anymore is because we would break when we fell down. They hardly even notice they fell.

In some cases they only cry if they know someone is watching.

I dunno… I work in a high school and see lots of kids with braces and crutches and the like, mostly thanks to sports injuries that have been surgically repaired. Torn ACLs are very popular these days. And while they’ve been quickly repaired by surgery, you gotta wonder if long-term, this kind of damage is cumulative and is going to make their lives a lot more difficult and expensive when they’re my age (pushing 60 with a bulldozer).

When we’re kids we don’t live for the person we’ll be when we’re 60. Nor should we. Ever. (pushing 72 – got bulldozed by 60 long ago).

Seeing crutches and braces maybe isn’t that bad, shows they’re getting better care. After all, kids will always be kids. Better than the “Walk it off!” we used to get.

Getting older beats the heck out of the alternative.

I broke a finger in a motorbike accident; my hand was in a splint for 6 weeks. Couldn’t play guitar the whole time; personalized purgatory.
