Boy: Whoa! It's blowing an 8 on the Pablo scale! Frazz: The Pablo Scale, Pablo? Boy: How many feet I can throw a ping pong ball into the wind. Frazz: As accurate as any anemometer! Boy: And easier to spell.
Um…. isn’t that kinda…. backward?Or am I missing something?
He’s says he’s throwing it into the wind….ie against the wind…
So…. I’d think the farther he can make it travel upwind…….. the less wind there is.“Wow” would be a wind that could whip the ball right out of his hand and blow it backwards.
Ping pong balls are like feathers…he could throw one eight feet, or even more, WITH the wind…
But I can’t imagine any wind worthy of a “wow” that a grade school kid can throw a ping pong ball INTO, overhanded, and make it go eight feet .
