Belly-flop pain is only momentary, but the memories last a lifetime.

From 3m, dying is just theoretical!

He’s only aiming to go off the high dive, not dive off it. Just do it.

At the pond I swam in as a kid there was a high dive (10’) with a lifeguard in a chair up top. On really hot days he would challenge us to get him wet. Cannon balls were pretty good, but he taught us how to do Can Openers which made a much bigger splash.

I had to look up what a can opener was. I knew them, I just didn’t know the name of the dive.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ig8dOApLwaw

I too had completely forgotten about can openers…Thanks norrisom! I tried to do a back flip off the high dive. Landed flat on my back. It wasn’t so much of a splash, more like a splat!….That stung for a while, I tell you what….
