I’d guess it’s actually a chest strap for a bluetooth heart monitor, I see them on a fair number of hardcore runners.

And what is the point of living longer, if you’re too tired and “moral” (no eating dessert) to enjoy anything?

comicsssfan: PE majors are routinely given teachers’ certificates and a class or two to teach so they can be considered teachers. Thus they can, if enough winning seasons, become principals and superintendents. I knew of only two coaches who were competent teachers in my whole public school days – one general science in junior high (and also a basketball referee for the old Southwest Conference), the other biology and aeronautics (cross-country track). The rest were mediocre to waste of time. Ironically, in Texas, a coach doesn’t have to be a teacher, but if not, cannot become principal or superintendent and tell real teacher how to teach. A rich enough school district could theoretically have hired Tom Landry when he retired from the Cowboys..Night-Gaunt49: It is hard to split a Latin infinitive, it is generally one word.

I believe Frazz is saying that tough speedwork is like dessert…something he does for enjoyment, not just for a goal.

I don’t think I’ve ever met a runner that did hard speedwork in order to live longer.
