Mr. Spaetzle: I read you don't have to do all this hard speedwork to live longer.
Frazz: That is true. I also don't have to eat dessert to not be hungry.
Mr. Spaetzle: I don't get Frazz.
Miss Plainwell: That is true.
comicsssfan: PE majors are routinely given teachers’ certificates and a class or two to teach so they can be considered teachers. Thus they can, if enough winning seasons, become principals and superintendents. I knew of only two coaches who were competent teachers in my whole public school days – one general science in junior high (and also a basketball referee for the old Southwest Conference), the other biology and aeronautics (cross-country track). The rest were mediocre to waste of time. Ironically, in Texas, a coach doesn’t have to be a teacher, but if not, cannot become principal or superintendent and tell real teacher how to teach. A rich enough school district could theoretically have hired Tom Landry when he retired from the Cowboys..Night-Gaunt49: It is hard to split a Latin infinitive, it is generally one word.

Ok, time for them to get married. Would be nice to see Frazz as a Dad

…but why does Frazz seem to be wearing a sports bra underneath it?

I’d guess it’s actually a chest strap for a bluetooth heart monitor, I see them on a fair number of hardcore runners.

And what is the point of living longer, if you’re too tired and “moral” (no eating dessert) to enjoy anything?

Ooh. Frazz just split an infinitive!

I believe Frazz is saying that tough speedwork is like dessert…something he does for enjoyment, not just for a goal.

Whoops. posted that before refreshing. I was referring to comments above, before I saw janinabarnes’s comment. Sorry!

Frazz is kind of holier than thou, isn’t he. I think I’ll drop him.

I don’t think I’ve ever met a runner that did hard speedwork in order to live longer.
