Frazz: You mean Cameron? Caulfield: Yeah, that's him. Your buddy who said "don't look down". He was right. Frazz: Of course, he was swimming across Monterey Bay, trying not to think about great whites. Caulfield: Well, it's good advice for county line lake, too.

Huh? The song doesn’t say anything about swimming.

I’d love to see a coffee table book about the lake bottoms underneath the marina’s in Traverse City, South Haven, Charlevoix, Harbor Springs, Northport, Copper Harbor, and Mackinac Island,,,,Could be anything down there…..

Reminds me of the old Satchel Paige comment, “Don’t look back. Something may be gaining on you.” It may be a good thing sometimes to ignore peril or unpleasantness, but whether you’re not looking down or back, it’s at your own peril.

Monterey Bay is VERY deep. Got an undersea canyon right there.

Actually, it’s a song in the Streisand/Kristoffersen remake of" A Star Is Born" – circa 1977.

Varnes,Someone named Dana Thomas Bowen did write a book titled Shipwrecks of the Lakes, meaning the Great Lakes. I don’t know if his books are still in print today, but the ones I’ve seen were hardcovers, none of which were tomes. Less than 300 pages per book. I’d call that size coffee table size.
