Boy: I love that first crisp sniff of October air. I don't know why on earth anybody would deliberately filter that. Mr. Spaetzle: I'd love to know what's so funny. Miss Plainwell: It's probably right under your nose.
@jeff0811I love reading the comments. Sometimes I need to when it’s a Jeff Mallett toon. Thanks for clarifying the ‘stache for me. I live in CA, but unfortunately, a ’stache wouldn’t have done any good this summer. Too much smoke from all the fires!
Having worn a mustache and full beard since I quit shaving many decades ago at the age of 19, I can say that the filtration aspect is true… for larger particles. There are many benefits to a mustache and beard.

I’ve had a ’stache for 30 years, never considered it a filter before. I used to live in CA, where some days, a filter would have helped a lot.
And now back to the weather channel.

Note to Mr. Mallett: I also ride a lot. Mustaches help keep the bugs out of your mouth, and definitely out of your nose. You should try it.

Back in my smoking days it was a handy source of a nicotine hit when I got stuck in a “no smoking” zone.

I was under the impression that cheesy mustache jokes went out with Groucho Marx (and with him, the mustache was cheesy, and the joke was cheesy).
