I had my turkey on Thursday, Saturday and finished on Monday.

Bury that meat in a burrito or chili. Or on a pizza with a mature cheddar topping.Mashed potatoes can be formed to patties and fried in a pan and go well with fish.

I don’t know what it is with turkey, but cooking it leaves a stink in the house no chicken can match.

Last night was the last night for us; all we had left was turkey, gravy and sweet potatoes.

I don’t know where Frazz lives, but Monday after Thanksgiving wasn’t too pleasant this year.

This is what happens when a family of 8 sits down to a dinner for 16.

I couldn’t get home for T-Day this year, but good friends invited me to share their dinner. Fabulous, and somewhat different from our traditional dishes – green beans not in a casserole and no marshmallows on sweet potatoes. Also no leftovers, but I wasn’t expected to help clean up. Positives and negatives, but I wouldn’t change the experience.

For some unknown reason, when I was new housewife I believed that when I was growing up we used to keep the big ol’ turkey carcass, with whatever hadn’t been eaten the night before, on the counter. By the third day, I’m sure I don’t have to describe the lesson I’d learned. Suffice it to say that that was more than 40 years ago and the….memory…lingers to this day.

We just tossed the last big hunk into the freezer after having turkey this and turkey that (and sandwiches) for 5 straight days. I’ll be wanting turkey again sometime in February, probably. Valentine turkey anyone?

I suppose it’s only appropriate. Comfort food, like comfort itself, should have a limited shelf life. With all due respect to Mae West, too much of a good thing may be wonderful, but it’s probably not good for you.

Humans like things that aren’t constant. We adapt and why we get bored or tired of something and want something else for awhile. We need variety.

Ok, I know I’m behind on the funnies but DUDE! What is Frazz’ curse? I can extrapolate/pontificate/guesstimate but the capital G is throwing me off. After Wiley’s Trump comment, I’m not taking anything for granted. Hidden fungi.

Turkey (even leftover) doesn’t smell bad, unless they’re implying that the parents are sending spoiled meat in their kids’ lunches.
