If you had to buy your own ground beef, buns, potatoes, and ketchup; peel and slice the potatoes; cook your own burger and fries; and clean up all your dishes, tableware, and cookware afterward, do you think you’d be able to do it all faster than Burger Bunker does?

    I found this strip yesterday.

I then read about 10 months of the strips.

I really love this strip and I think it may be my favorite current one.

Caulfield reminds me of Calvin a lot and when he’s talking to Frazz Frazz sort of acts like his Hobbes.

Frazz and all his interactions with all the wonderful characters brings me joy.

The jokes are clever and not super on the nose and sometimes require thought !

Most of all I love that in today’s world which is full of negativity and an abundance of morally vacant folks that this strip is the opposite! SUCH A WHOLESOME STRIP.

There’s more than just salad greens in the produce section. These days you can get complete salad kits with the salad, toppings, and dressing all in one bag. I like them because I can just dump everything into a large bowl, toss, and it’s ready to eat.

I think of liver and onions as fast food. If it’s being served I’m fasting.

Figuring out food, or the role food plays in our health, is a very productive inquiry. If you start from the question, “how can I choose foods that help keep my body healthy?” You are on a new life changing road.

The thing Caufield hasn’t figured out is that most people feel that the things we know are bad for us taste better than the things we’ve been told is healthy.

Salads may be edible, they are generally filling, they might even be tasty sometimes, but are they really food?

I’ve wondered what future generations will think of us who will wait at a drive through with our engines running wasting all that gas just sitting there deliberately. Especially if we do burn through all our fossil fuels before we transition to a new fuel source.

I didn’t start asking questions about food until my mid 30s so Caulfield is way ahead of the game.

What we need is a salad that tastes like a cheeseburger.

There is a reason burger chains mandate restaurant changes, There is a limit to how many layers of grease and stains you can scrape and steam.

That’s because of all those fancy coffee orders. Remember when McDs only had walk up and simple hamburgers, fries and drinks? Lines moved quickly and food was fresh hot and great.

It’s simple chemistry. Food tastes better and someone else makes it. They call it fast food, because they are cruel.

As long as you’re figuring it out. It helps. Much better than letting other peoples erroneous opinions habits and misleading ads ruin your health. The worst thing you can do to your body is punish it for the pain in your heart and or mind (I know I’m guilty)

I figure fast food slowing down is another sign of our dysfunctional labor economy.

I generally don’t have a problem with the speed, but I still remember “change back from your dollar” from old McD’s ads, and these days, I can heat a TV dinner and throw in some snacks and desserts for less than a combo meal, and often faster too.

Personally, I prefer to go into fast food restaurants and order to-go, since the drive thru lines are often so long and slow. Saving gas in the car is nice, and the in-restaurant service is often faster than the drive-thru would have been.
