Don't forget we're taking Fred to the vets later, dear! Shhh- don't mention the vets- He understands every word we say! Don't be so silly! Look at him- he looks as if he understands? I understand a lot more than I let on, mate!
My dogs like going to the vet - there’s so many interesting smells in the waiting room. And sometimes its just to pick up a sackful of DoggyDins. Maybe Fred thinks its that sort of visit.
Or maybe he likes having his temperature measured:-o
I know how Fred feels - really! My husband is always telling other Chinese people to watch what they say around me because I might not be able to speak; but there are few things that I don’t understand.
We used to have Sheltie when I was a kid, who always, always knew when we were taking him to the vet, no matter what we did to hide it. You could go a whole day without mentioning the ‘V’ word, bring along a frisbee, so he’d think we were headed for the park, give him his favorite treat, you name it.
Nothing worked. Every single time, he had to dragged out to the car.

After this Friday I hope we’re done with the vet’s for a while, we have to take in the cat we adopted in January to get fixed.

I didn’t know you were so good at being so inscrutible when disaster is about to strike. Poor guy, the vet will be good to you, I promise.

I believe dogs know so much more than we realize! Fred probably likes going to the vet, he knows he’ll get lots of attention and treats. ;)
