Fred’s right. His masters always leave the meat out and think he won’t grab it every time. Insanity is making the same mistake over and over hoping for a different result.
This is a continuing theme here – sausages and Fred. I’m not sure if it’s an indication of the lack of intelligence of Fred’s masters ( He and She), but the joke is getting pretty old.

Could it be that one of his people doesn’t like sausage, so leaves them within Fred’s reach, thus not having to eat them her/himself?
