Chocolate Drops in the US are crème filled and surrounded by dark chocolate and would not be good for dogs. As folks in the UK probably don’t know every product we have here in the US the reverse is true too. Folks in the US don’t know everything about UK products. I thought the poster was wrong to say ‘advocating dog poisoning’ and agree that part was kind of dumb. Anybody that reads Fred at all should know that is far from true. But calling somebody stupid because they don’t know products is pretty stupid too.
They sell (or used to, anyway) safe “chocolate” treats in the U.S. as well. I don’t remember the brand name, since it’s been years since I had dogs, but we asked the vet, and he said that kind was safe, but that regular chocolate was unsafe. Dogs can eat some amount of chocolate without harm (not advocating this!) since we did have a miniature dachshund that got into the chocolate donuts, and we took her to the vet, and she was fine.
