What can I say? Patents lie to their kids to get them to cooperate and save the fussing till the end therefore minimalizing it.

Aww Fred, a visit to the vet is good for your well being. You’ll feel better once the doctor gives you a clean bill of health. Unfortunately, Mr. Dear will be sick over the bill.

Today’s strip reminds me of a Red and Rover strip from about three years ago. Rover was told he had an appointment at the vet’s and he told Red, “I like the vet. I like the staff.” In the last panel, he added, “What I don’t like is the waiting room.” This could mean that he’s just nervous about waiting but Red showed there was more to it by replying, “Is it my fault that last time you had to queue up with cats.”

Someone commented, “Look on the bright side, Rover, you survived.” Someone else added, “The important thing is did all the cats survive.” Presumably they did or Rover would not have survived. Luckily he did and Red and Rover continues and is a strong contender for my third favourite strip after the excellent Calvin and Hobbes and Andy Capp strips.

I think you just drew the wrong conclusion, Fred.

You were bamboozled!

Fooled ya! Dogs just walk right into it…(try stuffing an unwilling cat into his carrier sometime and you’ll know what I mean!)

My dog’s vet was right next to my grandmother’s house. Gus would think he was going to visit nana until we pulled into the parking lot.

Tricked again!

Taking my girl to the vet in a little bit to get her stitches removed. Somehow, Somewhere in the yard chasing Something, she tore a 5 inch flap in her side under her foreleg. Looked all over. STILL can’t find what she did it on. The joys of being owned by a dog.

This is for your own good, Fred! We need you happy and healthy for our morning laughs!

I do hope you get a treat afterward, Fred. My wife likes me to take her out for coffee and a snack after a doctor visit. I’m happy to indulge her.
