Well Fred, we knew the way to your heart was through your stomach!

Well, if you put it that way, important matters first, Let’s go! Funny how what you want can change when looked at from another angle.

Mr. Dear knew just what persuasion to use.

I would have held out for slices of meat!

Sausage flavour. Off course……

That lit a fire under Fred

I’m glad to see that Fred survived yesterday’s confrontation with those big dogs.

I never had a dog who refused an offer of a walk. When I was in high school, I would take a walk every weekday afternoon to get the paper at the store about a half mile away, and Gus would get excited as soon as I stood up. Then I went to college. On the first weekday back for Christmas break, I got up and didn’t have to say a word. Gus started wagging his tail and ran to the door to the basement stairs where we kept his leash.

Wow, that’s so different from every German Shepherd Dog I have ever known. I don’t care if you’re going cross country or just across the room; a GSD is always up for the trip. If you do manage to get out of the house alone, they will greet you as if you’ve been gone for a year, even if you just went out to check the mail.

Everyone, even Fred, has a price.

I can understand Fred’s motivation. I won’t usually walk a total of 8 blocks. (I use a walker and do fine; I’m just lazy) . But I will walk 4 blocks to the restaurant, eat. amd then walk 4 blocks back home. As someone above said, stomachs often win!
