Oh Fred, don’t worry about appearances’

Why worry about meeting snobs. In case no one has told you, weekends ARE for dressing in old comfy clothes and slobbing a bit. If the Barrington-Smythes object, ignore them. Their loss.

Oh Fred, the Barrington-Smiths will stick to their loving you. We know for sure. They probably would make some pointy remarks but will be good friends to your family for ever. I see a lot of house sitting and lots of festivities comming up in the future. Don’t you worry.

I’m with Fred. England is a touch of class and he should put on a tie or wear a scarf or something.

Fred just go with the flow. This could be a target rich Sausage environment ;-)

I remember a strip in which Fred commented, “We don’t have to keep up with the Jones anymore. Now we’re keeping up with the Barrington-Smiths.”

I think that the Dears are more working class than middle class as they named their dog Fred which is seen as a working class name.

Something about “Saloon Lounge” tells me it’s come-as-you-are. Snobs need not attend.

That would be me to a T.

It’s a conundrum. If he dresses too nicely, he’ll stand out. If he dresses too shabbily, he’ll stand out.

I’m in America. What is a saloon lounge? How is it different from the local?

The art has sure gotten sloppy of late.

I only wish my husband would dress that well. Unfortunately he is a lost cause.

That’s how I schlep around these days, except for the turtleneck; I can’t stand them.

If you didn’t have the biggada bucks, why would you have pretensions to something “better?” I’d much rather be comfortable.

Give him a break Fred! How would you like to wear a suit and tie all day?

I’m in awe of the two-tone trousers; amazing how the legs change colour as he walks.
