I know the feeling. I always close my eyes. Funny how that works, huh Fred? You don’t want to see those bits, but we watch those scary movies anyway. Maybe we like being scared just a little. Just don’t want to see it.
For me, sometimes I turn my head even if they don’t show anything. Perfect example is the movie “Hitcher”. The girlfriend is tied up to 2 vehicle bumpers: I turn my head even though I know (from my 1st viewing) that nothing is shown. Another is the gym teacher’s fate in “Carrie”. It’s not that bad…I just simply can’t.
Brings back memories of watching the original 1933 movie, King Kong on our old black and white television, in the dark just after dusk in 1957. Eeeeeeek!
