What was Fred doing in the garden in the middle of the night?
Hounds make good watchdogs, but terrible guard dogs. The two we had would bark up a storm at intruders, real and imagined, but if someone had broken in, they were more likely to get tail wags and licks than bites.
Still Fred did his job.
If the burglar woke up my hound, she’d sing him the song of her people at 125 decibels. Which would wake up the cat, and then he’d be in trouble.
