You are supposed to wear black and a skull mask when you use it.

Sythes take practice to be used properly and safely. Obviously Dear hasn’t mastered the fine art of using it efficiently. On the up side, since the delphiniums are shot, maybe Dear won’t mind you burying your bones there.

I do that with my lawn-mower… Had to place rocks around the good plants…

Fifty years ago I has a summer job as a gardener on a sewage farm, and only a single highly-trained member of the team was allowed to use the scythe. The rest of us were limited to sickles – they are much, much less dangerous!

Lucky he didn’t lose a foot.

Looks like Mr. Dear isn’t much of a gardener!

I’m surprised to see a scythe being used in a suburban garden. My grandfather had one, but he lived in the country and often used it to cut grass that went up to his waist.

Been there, done that, but with a weed whacker.

Fred, if I were you, I’d stay inside when Mr. Dear is playing with sharp objects.

…and if you’ve ever had your delphiniums nipped off, you know how painful that can be! Just ask Fred! :)

I’d rather her decimated the delphiniums than his toes.

He needs to get a black hooded robe as an accessory.

Um, really, unless you’re cutting a field of hay, something like a lawn-size sickle might be more useful.
