Once you’ve prostituted your art by taking money to paint portraits, it’s all downhill from there. Sooner or later you’ll be soliciting people on the streets to make chalk pictures of them on the sides of buildings.
SHEIK Hmph!! Should I follow my artistic heart and compose poetry that nobody wanted to read, or PROSTITUTE myself by working, paying my taxes and bills, and supporting my poor ailing family. Oh, it’s OK for an artist to take government (taxpayer) money to pour urine on religious figures If i write obscene gibberish with no rhyme, reason, or redeeming social value, I too will be a rich, fat artist.
