I was like #2 at school. (My parents gave up trying to fight food battles when my oldest brother was a toddler.) I missed a lot of after lunch recesses, because I wouldn’t clean my plate. I just sat in the lunch room until it was time for class to start, and so I would be dismissed. On the final day, my teacher decided that she was going to win this war, and stood over me while she watched to make sure I cleaned my plate. I did, then I promptly vomited it back up – right at her, since she happened to be standing on the opposite side of the table. I told my mom what happened when I got home, and she said “Good for you!” (I wasn’t a skinny child, and it was mashed potatoes & gravy that I didn’t want to eat – I could have stood to miss those calories!)
