Poor Cutthroat Island. It cost 100 million to make and only made back about 10 million. I just now ordered the DVD from Netflix – haven’t seen it for years but seeing this comic reminded me.If you enjoy a tough, deadly Geena Davis, make sure you see “The Long Kiss Goodnight”; that one I own on Blu-ray, and it’s worth it, IMO.
I was going by the financial definition of a “bomb”, not audience acceptance. All the movies on my list in this cartoon are big money losers. “Cutthroat Island” was the biggest bomb in movie history. I may be one of the few who liked “Ishtar”. I thought the first half of the movie had some decent laughs. Then it shifted to the desert where it got a lot less funny.
