Phil (not Paul) is a real estate novelist who’s never had time for a wife and he’s talking with Davy who’s still in the Navy and probably will be for life (as I was ).

Excellent, well done.

Billy Joel has many nice songs. For me, the best is “The Longest Time”, done in DooWop style. It’s a song about love, the good and the bad.

“I’ll take my chances, I forgot how nice romance is.I haven’t been there for the longest time.”

I read somewhere that on the recording, he overdubs all the harmonies himself.

They said, “Man what are you doing here?”

La da da ditty dah…… Good song.

“’Don’t Ask Me Why’ that occurred, I’m ‘An Innocent Man’.”

Oh, and microphone smelled like beer.

Finally, 50 years later and the Catholic girls have learned the significance (or insignificance) of his songs.

Tom Waits didn’t notice anything but the piano’s been drinking, not him.
