When I was a kid, getting grounded meant that you would pick your @$$ up off the ground where you just got knocked to. Arguing, failure to do your work, coming home with failing grades and you found out what the “ground” was and how you would meet it! To avoid that, we did as we were told with no back talk! And, yes, that was way back. In a couple of weeks, I’ll be 77.
