Wow, poor kid. Hopefully she’ll come to her senses before summer begins and let her son experience the joys of summer (sleeping in late, watch some tv, go outside to play, fish, sing, dance, then go to bed a little later than usual). It’s not a childhood if you can’t experience child-like fun!
Sometimes it is too late. she is of the idea that he must get in all those things she thinks would be good for him. Ask him? Preposterous, he’s just a kid, what would he know….?

I think the idea was for him to enjoy some of his summer vacation instead of feeling like he’s still in school.
