My father had a garden way in the back up a hill. He was retired; he would fill watering can and water part of the garden then go back to house, fill the can then back to garden over and over. I asked him why he didn’t use a hose. Basically, I got the same answer. Good exercise too, I guess.
I’ve been a full-time IT Support guy and computer programmer for the last 15 years and my opinion is that computers are a mixed blessing. Computers now make it possible for one person to make the mistakes that it used to take thousands of people to make. :) :(
I have four PCs and two personal devices. A significant portion of my time goes into providing tech support for me . Every new program or piece of hardware fights with existing ones. Updates are never-ending . If one more support tech tells me to re-install my software for a third time, I’ll probably go spare.
I still write my Christmas cards by hand. I address the envelopes by hand. I don’t send to so many people it becomes a chore.
