    Did that when I took my parents out. They didn’t believe in tipping at all.

    By leaving a small tip, he can budget to take the family out again in five years. Of course, it would have had to be at another restaurant. :)

    I’ve worked food service. People on limited income have funny habits and we understood it wasn’t personal.

    I adored my grandparents; they were Depression-era people and just didn’t understand about tipping! I always ‘forgot’ something back at the table …
