A few years ago, I sold a house fully furnished. Everything: furniture, clothes, dishes, workshop tools, mechanic’s tools, lawn equipment, car and pickup truck, and the outbuildings full of junk. I took a coat, some clothes, and my classic car. The rest, part of the deal and their problem.
Dad recently moved to assisted living, and my brother and I have to go through the stuff in his house. To be fair, by brother’s doing the lion’s share since he’s retired. I don’t envy our kids having to go through everything in our basement when that time comes.

That’s what happened when my Grandmother died. Only I was the one who had to go through it when my Mom died.
