One of my neighbors decided to have a “community” garden in their back yard and planned on leaving the gate to the back unlatched so anyone who wished could get fresh vegetables. Ultimately, she figured out even a small garden takes a lot of work and that project fell by the wayside.
because lawns use so much water, many stopped watering them, leaving brown lawns. An entrepreneur went around the neighborhood installing raised planters in the front yards. Win-win for everyone.
