my favorite Stevie King blurb was the first sentence of the chapter in “The Shining” where Jack gets stung by a wasp while doing a roof repair job on the Overlook Hotel.
Beauty is in the eye… The longer I live away from desert (or in this case, Deseret) the better pictures like this look. Southern Utah became much more appealing to me when air conditioning became ubiquitous in cars. There are very nice places in Northern Utah, and even the salt flats and canyons West of the Great Salt Lake have an appeal all their own.
The real problem is trying to get a decent cup of coffee there.
And, as Matthew Fisher said, Please don’t make me sing that song again. Greatest kissoff song of all time. And not to a girl that messed you over. To your used to be mates.
Steven King gives great blurb. He’s a master of anything compressed. I won’t have him denigrated. The whole version of The Stand is riveting. Even though it’s really long. Carrie, on the other hand, is a compact masterpiece.

The empty swing tells a grim story. What looked like a very effective warning for children and parents turns out to have been a movie ad.

That’s an unfortunate picture of Utah. Southern Utah is gorgeous! I’m sure that theoldwolf can attest to the Northern part of the state.

And anything to do with Funky Winkerbean is cancerous and will result in at least the loss of a limb.

That picture of the kids sitting on the plastic covered couch must have been taken in the Northwest side of Chicago.
