As for saying one thing and meaning something else, that’s SPIN, as they say in public relations, Congress and almost everywhere else. And that reminded me of “The Walrus & The Carpenter”. (Both fine chaps, really nice fellows, just don’t go walking with them.)
It makes me sad that Fred Wells found the time and energy to object in writing to something as ephemeral and inconsequential as “Garfield.” I’m sad because it’s clear he never laughed or smiled at any single thing in his entire life. Where’s your distance, man? Where are your cognitive powers?
