Spaceman Mitchell’s right to assert the defense of laches will most likely be met by an unclean hands counterargument from NASA, under the theory that “he who seeks equity must do equity.” If Spaceman Mitchell came into possession of the camera by virtue of a five finger discount, under an equitable analysis his hands would be dirty and he would be barred from asserting an equitable defense.
Red Eared Slider Alert – I went on a pre dawn bike ride on the Arkansas River Trail this morning, and I saw an unusual number (4) of red eared sliders crossing the path of the 14 mile loop that I like to ride. They were all heading away from the river. I have no idea what that means.P.S. Although it has nothing to do with laches, unclean hands, replevin or (as far as I know), red eared sliders, my favorite equitable maxim is “Equity delights to do justice and not by halves.” (In this regard Equity and Solomon would have disagreed.)
