Mmm, daikon. Delicious when fresh – the perfect compliment to a nuru-nuru bowl of natto!

    Schadenfreude:

Mild daikonicity=mediocre gifting? But it’s a big ‘un! Thar she blows, Cap’n! So, it’s a whale of a gift, I conclude!

    I think, as a gift, it’s kind of rad-ish…

“I’ll Never Find Another You” has been going through my head for two days now. I’m going to sue Teresa. I don’t dare click on “Georgy Girl.” Too late, just typing the title did it for me. “…there’s another Georgy deep inside…” Oh Lord, who will deliver me from this bondage?

I’m thinking I should get some cards printed up with that “inappropriate thoughts” message, to hand out to very carefully-selected individuals.

I take it Asians must really love daikon. It looks like a turnip with the mumps.

“SCHADENFREUDE” may be my favorite word (with more than four letters), and the photo in the Blog is the funniest example I’ve ever seen. And Old Wolf’s photo is the best (and only) pun on the word that I’ve ever seen/heard. Nice going, Teresa and Wolf.

@Ray & @Hugh: Thanks for the hat-tip. This one came to me one night in a fit of strangeness, and I had to get it into graphic form. I’ve always liked it myself…

The link to the rooftop wind farm article is not working, nor can I find any such article on the site. So it’s hard to check the maths without knowing the specs of the system. But typically a small wind gen might have a 2kW peak, might generate 600kWh/month (depends on wind resource in your area). Which per year would be 7200kWh, not the 1500 suggested. If you add in the fact that feed in tariffs in most areas are usually higher than the 12c quoted, I would expect a payback in less than 10 years. Less of course if feed in tariff rises, as it is expected to do with world energy demand putting pressure on supply. These are totally back-of-envelope calculations. On the other side of the envelope are doodles of Teresa doing xxxxxxxxxx with a xxxxx.

The photo of the baby sea turtle was my favorite as well as the Autumn picture. How serene.
