trophies and ribbons don’t mean much. it is the look on the other team’s face that counts. When I was on a team, we got Creamsicles if we won. Only if we won. And we did about half the time.
It helps children more to learn from failure and strive to do better next time. Trophies should only be given out for actual accomplishments, not just showing up.
Now to the issue at hand. There’s a simple solution that I’ve suggested many times. Have each boy complete a challenge. If they finish it, they are free to go with a trophy. If they fail, then the death sentence is back on the table. Great Man’s challenge should be virtually impossible since it was his work on the webcomic that got them in the mess to begin with.
