After these many years of reading Garfield I still wonder why are the speech balloons of Garfield shaped as thought balloons. How do Garfield and the mouse understand each other?
Telepathy?
Nab…..I have a couple of cats and I keep them inside at all times. They are perfectly happy as ;long as they have their condo in front of the window so they can see out. There is just too much weird stuff that could happen to them outside.
Nabuquduriuzhur, we lost a cat to an owl a couple of years back. We had adopted a pair of kittens and only let them start going outside when they were full grown. When he disappeared, his brother mourned for weeks. (and, no, the other cat does NOT go outside anymore.)
I caught an owl in a chicken cage several years ago. Don’t know how it got in. I kept it as a POW for a week or so. We finally negotiated his release provided he didn’t come back. Ain’t seen him since.

Talk about utter humiliation to a cat.

Because most of animal communication is via body language.

Trivia: it turns out Jim Davis got the idea to have Garfield walk on 2 feet years ago from Charles Schulz. I read this on IMDB
