I’m glad we don’t have Thanksgiving in this country……seems like a lot of hard work for very little reward. I’ll stick with what I’m having and be thankful that it didn’t take long and didn’t wear me out. (The local pizzas aren’t worth eating!)
My family got tired of all the fuss about food when we get together for Thanksgiving and Christmas (the only times of the year we all get together), so everyone just brings a frozen pizza and dessert, and we have a simple party with more visiting than eating. No stress, and everyone has a good time! And no-one feels sick from over-eating.
Not just pizza, either - many restaurants have taken to being open for at least one or two meal times on Thanksgiving. Too many kids flunked Home Ec for it to be otherwise. And then there are all the single folks, and families scattered to the four winds, etc.; the traditional family gathering has become a logistics nightmare… If I had a way to get there, I had an invitation to be with friends today - 1800 miles away. I think I’m going to take Mom somewhere for dinner, though, so that part’s OK. Another thing - how do you blend all the in-laws and outlaws in today’s families?
I ordered pizza for thanksgiving, too! Almost no one has an oven in China and there are really no turkeys anyway (plus I can’t stand the taste of turkey).

A poor workman blames the equipment. How poor a cook do you have to be to blame something imaginary?

dkram - so let me guess what the 5 roadkill meats might be: Are they: deer, squirrel, skunk, cat, and possum?
I always loved Foghorn Leghorn - “a bu, a bu, a bu, listen when I’m talkin’ t’ ya, boy!”

Thanksgiving at the farm would have been much more enjoyable.
On the subject of Foghorn Leghorn. He is my favorite character.

Thanksgiving is, in fact, a rather busy day for pizza delivery.

@Johanan Rakkav: I think his offering is not good enough which is why they are angry at Jon.
