No need to be harsh… just put some marbles in a cup, stick ’em in the freezer. Give ONE chance to get up, then lift sheet, discretely, then pour the marbles in on them. Tell them how many marbles they should retrieve if they want breakfast. Nice, cold marbles on bare skin…
Or just get a aerosol boat horn. First waking doesn’t work, that one will!
But for myself, I got an Emerson alarm clock that starts out barely audible, but gets loud in a few seconds if not stopped. And I keep it out of all possible reach from where I sleep.
